Steele - Thomas M.

On last Wednesday morning just after 1 o'clock, Thomas M. Steele breathed his last. Death was caused by congestion of the lungs and old age. Mr. Steele has lived here since 1836, and has seen our city grow up from a small town to its present size. He has been an active Republican and an honored citizen. He was born on June 5, 1804, in Bath county, Ky., and moved to this county in 1831. His wife died in 1870. All of his children are dead and the nearest relative is an only grandson, George Steele. Rev W.S. Pryse conducted the funeral services on Thursday afternoon at his late residence. Interment took place at Masonic cemetery. - thanks to Kim H
